เนื่องจากการคาดการพบว่าความสามารถ power of computer chip จะเพิ่มขึ้นเป็นสองเท่าทุกๆ 18-24 เดือน ดังนั้นลูกค้าจึงมีโอกาสที่องค์กรจะซื้อของดีในราคาที่ถูกมากขึ้น เนื่องจากราคาจะปรับลดลงอย่างรวดเร็ว จึงทำให้ผลประกอบการของบริษัทที่ได้จากผลิตภัณฑ์ (Price to performance ratio) นั้นลดลงแบบ exponential ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นว่าเทคโนโลยีนั้นมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างรวดเร็ว
Productivity Paradox
การลงทุนใน IT จะเห็นว่ามี case ที่แสดงถึงความสำเร็จของ IT project มากมาย แต่บางทีอาจจะไม่ได้เกิดผลดีเสมอไป อาจจะทำให้ Productivity แย่ลงได้ ซึ่งเกิดจากหลายๆอย่าง เพราะการลงทุนทางด้าน IT อาจไม่ก่อให้เกิดผลได้ในทันที เช่น

การลงทุนใน IT จะเห็นว่ามี case ที่แสดงถึงความสำเร็จของ IT project มากมาย แต่บางทีอาจจะไม่ได้เกิดผลดีเสมอไป อาจจะทำให้ Productivity แย่ลงได้ ซึ่งเกิดจากหลายๆอย่าง เพราะการลงทุนทางด้าน IT อาจไม่ก่อให้เกิดผลได้ในทันที เช่น
